Most people have a dream of what their life could be or should be, as opposed to what it is. Some call it a dream: others call it a vision. No matter what you call it, most of us have a ‘mental image’ of what we hope our life will someday become. When our reality is at least moving towards our dream; we feel a sense of satisfaction and well-being. But when our reality is nowhere close to our vision for the future or even moving in the opposite direction, we can begin to feel helpless and hopeless.
Pastor Greg Davis draws on personal experience and scripture to explore this common challenge facing many leaders in this dynamic and gut-wrenching blog post.

In the midst of conflict, David finds himself in the midst of battle after battle. It’s during a time of continued struggle against Saul that Jonathan goes to David. “Then Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David in the woods and strengthen his hand in God” (1 Samuel 23:16 NKJV).
…if the greatest king that ever led Israel needed someone in his life, you are no greater. You need someone in your life who inspires you to love bigger and strive for greater.
Someone commented about a minister to me just this week and said, “I think he has PTSD.” Spirit building solitude with God and his Word, rest, recreation and connection with family and friends are not to be looked at as electives. I’m here to tell you that these things are what will keep your ship afloat. With these thoughts in mind, I want to pose three questions…
On June 7, 2019, life changed for the Bruce family as they watched 9 feet of water rise from a flash flood and wash 40 years of history and memories at Faithway Assembly of God out into the streets of Lafollette, TN. The damage had to still be assessed, but when you see the altars and pews give way, float and pile up at the back of the sanctuary in a heap, you know the place you’ve sunk your life into for four decades has changed forever.
February 11, 2017 I had a flash vision from the Lord.
In this vision, I exited off an interstate, continued up a long off-ramp toward a stop sign where I encountered a vehicle, parked to the left, halfway in the road, half off on the shoulder.
You haven’t seen or heard anything until you've spent a Saturday afternoon with 102,455 orange, bleacher stomping maniacs at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. They will deafen you as they will their Volunteers on toward a victory. Nor have you seen or heard a gladiator like atmosphere until you’ve witnessed the ebb and flow of the Cotton Bowl filled to capacity, split equally in half, by the crimson Oklahoma Sooner and orange Texas Longhorn fans in the 119 year running, Red River Rivalry. Both settings can put warm chill bumps on a stone cold slab of concrete.
A Poem By Joe Phillips, MVP Guest Blogger
Out of the ashes of a devastated soul,
Through the smoke clearing vistas of sinful toll -
Steps the Preacher written off long ago.
Publicly disgraced for his prodigal show.
He landed on the heap of Preachers tainted;
His shame was broadcast and the faithful fainted.
No one gets a pass from this nebulous shadow.
How’s he even standing in this infamous meadow?
